Claims
- 1. A glass material consisting essentially of a composition by weight percent of:
- ______________________________________ GeO.sub.2 4-14 SiO.sub.2 0-4 PbO 50-80 PbF.sub.2 0-7 B.sub.2 O.sub.3 11-17 Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 4-9 ZnO 0-7 V.sub.2 O.sub.5 0.6-3 CdO 0-7______________________________________
- and having a coefficient of thermal expansion in the range 84-87.times.10.sup.-7 /.degree.C. from 25.degree. to 300.degree. C.
- 2. A glass plus ceramic mixture having a coefficient of thermal expansion in the range of about 59-65.times.10.sup.-7 /.degree.C. (25.degree.-300.degree. C.), comprising a powdered base glass of composition by weight percent consisting essentially of:
- ______________________________________ GeO.sub.2 4-14 SiO.sub.2 0-4 PbO 50-80 PbF.sub.2 0-7 B.sub.2 O.sub.3 11-17 Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 4-9 ZnO 0-7 V.sub.2 O.sub.5 0.6-3 CdO 0-7;______________________________________
- plus 23.6 to 36.4 weight percent powdered lead titanate, the combination forming said glass plus ceramic mixture.
- 3. A glass containing material comprising an admixture of a titania free crushed base glass having a coefficient of thermal expansion in the range 84-87.times.10.sup.-7 /.degree.C. from 25.degree. to 300.degree. C., and 23.6 to 36.4 weight percent lead titanate powder, wherein the mixture consists essentially of ingredients by weight percentage in the range of:
- ______________________________________ GeO.sub.2 2.5-10.7 SiO.sub.2 0-2.3 PbO 58.6-78.5 PbF.sub.2 0-5.3 B.sub.2 O.sub.3 7.0-13.0 Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 2.5-6.9 ZnO 0-5.3 V.sub.2 O.sub.5 0.4-2.3 CdO 0-5.3 TiO.sub.2 6.2-9.6______________________________________
