Claims
- 1. A semiconductor memory module comprising:(a) a substrate having a plurality of wirings, a terminal, a first surface and a second surface opposite to said first surface; (b) a first device disposed on said first surface of said substrate, said first device having a first semiconductor memory chip and first leads electrically connected to said first semiconductor memory chip; (c) a second device disposed on said second surface of said substrate, said second device having a second semiconductor memory chip and second leads electrically connected to said second semiconductor memory chip, said first leads of said first device and said second leads of said second device each including leads electrically connected to each other through said plurality of wirings; and (d) a third device disposed on said first surface of said substrate; wherein a predetermined signal inputted in said terminal of said substrate is inputted to said first device through said third device, and wherein said first and second devices are positioned on respective said first and second surfaces such that they are symmetrical with regard to said substrate.
- 2. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 1, wherein each of said first and second leads of said first and second devices includes electrical common leads and an electrical independent lead, and wherein said leads of said first and second leads electrically connected to each other through said plurality of wirings are said electrical common leads.
- 3. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 1, said predetermined signal is inputted from an external device.
- 4. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 1, wherein said third device includes a logic device.
- 5. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 1, wherein said first semiconductor memory chip of said first device has the same function as that of said second semiconductor memory chip of said second device.
- 6. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 1, wherein each of said first and second devices is a tape carrier package having a resin film, a semiconductor chip disposed in a device hole formed in said resin film and flexible leads formed on said resin film.
- 7. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 2, wherein said electrical common leads includes address signal leads and data signal leads, and wherein said electrical independent lead includes a chip selecting signal lead.
- 8. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 5, wherein each of said first and second semiconductor memory chips has a plurality of electrodes formed on a main surface thereof, and wherein an arrangement of said plurality of electrodes of said first semiconductor memory chip is the same as that of said plurality of electrodes of said second semiconductor memory chip in a plane view.
- 9. A semiconductor memory module comprising:(a) a substrate having a plurality of wirings, a terminal, a first surface and a second surface opposite to said first surface; (b) a first device disposed on said first surface of said substrate, said first device having a first semiconductor memory chip and first leads electrically connected to said first semiconductor memory chip; (c) a second device disposed on said second surface of said substrate, said second device having a second semiconductor memory chip and second leads electrically connected to said second semiconductor memory chip, said first leads of said first device and said second leads of said second device each including leads electrically connected to each other through said plurality of wirings; and (d) a third device disposed on said first surface of said substrate; wherein a predetermined signal inputted in said terminal of said substrate is inputted to said first device through said third device, and wherein said first and second devices are positioned on respective said first and second surfaces such that they overlap each other in a plane view.
- 10. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 9, wherein each of said first and second leads of said first and second devices includes electrical common leads and an electrical independent lead, and wherein said leads of said first and second leads electrically connected to each other through said plurality of wirings are said electrical common leads.
- 11. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 9, wherein said predetermined signal is inputted from an external device.
- 12. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 9, wherein said third device includes a logic device.
- 13. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 9, wherein said first semiconductor memory chip of said first device has the same finction as that of said second semiconductor memory chip of said second device.
- 14. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 9, wherein each of said first and second devices is a tape carrier package having a resin film, a semiconductor chip disposed in a device hole formed in said resin film and flexible leads formed on said resin film.
- 15. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 10, wherein said electrical common leads includes address signal leads and data signal leads, and wherein said electrical independent lead includes a chip selecting signal lead.
- 16. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 13, wherein each of said first and second semiconductor memory chips has a plurality of electrodes formed on a main surface thereof, and wherein an arrangement of said plurality of electrodes of said first semiconductor memory chip is the same as that of said plurality of electrodes of said second semiconductor memory chip in a plane view.
- 17. A semiconductor memory module comprising:(a) a substrate having a plurality of wirings, a terminal, a first surface and a second surface opposite to said first surface; (b) a first device disposed on said first surface of said substrate, said first device having a first semiconductor memory chip and first leads electrically connected to said first semiconductor memory chip; (c) a second device disposed on said second surface of said substrate, said second device having a second semiconductor memory chip and second leads electrically connected to said second semiconductor memory chip, said first leads of said first device and said second leads of said second device each including leads electrically connected to each other through said plurality of wirings; and (d) a third device disposed on said first surface of said substrate; wherein a predetermined signal inputted in said terminal of said substrate is inputted to said first device through said third device, and wherein said first and second devices are positioned on respective said first and second surfaces such that a distance between said third device and said first device is substantially equal to a distance between said third device and said second device.
- 18. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 17, wherein each of said first and second leads of said first and second devices includes electrical common leads and an electrical independent lead, and wherein said leads of said first and second leads electrically connected to each other through said plurality of wirings are said electrical common leads.
- 19. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 17, wherein said predetermined signal is inputted from an external device.
- 20. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 17, wherein said third device includes a logic device.
- 21. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 17, wherein said first semiconductor memory chip of said first device has the same function as that of said second semiconductor memory chip of said second device.
- 22. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 17, wherein each of said first and second devices is a tape carrier package having a resin film, a semiconductor chip disposed in a device hole formed in said resin film and flexible leads formed on said resin film.
- 23. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 18, wherein said electrical common leads includes address signal leads and data signal leads, and wherein said electrical independent lead includes a chip selecting signal lead.
- 24. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 22, wherein each of said first and second semiconductor memory chips has a plurality of electrodes formed on a main surface thereof, and wherein an arrangement of said plurality of electrodes of said first semiconductor memory chip is the same as that of said plurality of electrodes of said second semiconductor memory chip in a plane view.
- 25. A semiconductor memory module comprising:(a) a substrate of a substantially rectangular shape having a first surface, a second surface opposite to said first surface, a pair of longer edges extending a first direction and a pair of shorter edges extending a second direction substantially perpendicular to said first direction, said substrate having a plurality of wirings and a plurality of terminals arranged along one of said pair of longer edges; (b) a plurality of first devices disposed on said first surface of said substrate, each of said first devices having a first semiconductor memory chip and first leads electrically connected to said first semiconductor memory chip; (c) a plurality of second devices disposed on said second surface of said substrate, each of said second device having a second semiconductor memory chip and second leads electrically connected to said second semiconductor memory chip, said first leads of said first devices and said second leads of said second devices each including leads electrically connected to each other through said plurality of wirings; and (d) a third device disposed on said first surface of said substrate; wherein predetermined signals inputted in ones of said plurality of terminals of said substrate are inputted to said first devices through said third device, wherein a first one of said first devices is arranged between said third device and one of said shorter edges, wherein a second one of said first devices is arranged between said third device and the other of said shorter edges, wherein a first one of said second devices is arranged between said third device and one of said shorter edges, and wherein a second one of said second devices is arranged between said third device and the other of said shorter edges.
- 26. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 25, wherein said first and second devices are positioned on respective said first and second surfaces such that said first ones of said first and second devices are symmetrical with regard to said substrate and said second ones of said first and second devices are symmetrical with regard to said substrate.
- 27. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 25, wherein said first and second devices are positioned on respective said first and second surfaces such that said first ones of said first and second devices overlap each other in a plane view and said second ones of said first and second devices overlap each other in the plane view.
- 28. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 25, wherein said first and second devices are positioned on respective said first and second surfaces such that a distance between said third device and said first one of said first devices is substantially equal to a distance between said third device and said first one of said second devices.
- 29. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 25, wherein each of said first and second leads of said first and second devices includes electrical common leads and an electrical independent lead, and wherein said leads of said first and second leads electrically connected to each other through said plurality of wirings are said electrical common leads.
- 30. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 25, wherein said electrical common leads includes address signal leads and data signal leads, and wherein said electrical independent lead includes a chip selecting signal lead.
- 31. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 25, wherein each of said first and second devices is a tape carrier package having a resin film, a semiconductor chip disposed in a device hole formed in said resin film and flexible leads formed on said resin film.
- 32. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 30, wherein said predetermined signal is inputted from an external device.
- 33. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 32, wherein said third device includes a logic device.
- 34. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 33, wherein said first semiconductor memory chip of each of said first devices has the same function as that of said second semiconductor memory chip of each of said second devices.
- 35. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 34, wherein each of said first and second semiconductor memory chips has a plurality of electrodes formed on a main surface thereof, and wherein an arrangement of said plurality of electrodes of said first semiconductor memory chip is the same as that of said plurality of electrodes of said second semiconductor memory chip in a plane view.
- 36. A semiconductor memory module comprising:(a) a substrate having a plurality of wirings; a terminal, a first surface and a second surface opposite to said first surface; (b) a first device disposed on said first surface of said substrate, said first device having a first semiconductor memory chip and first leads electrically connected to said first semiconductor memory chip; (c) a second device disposed on said second surface of said substrate, said second device having a second semiconductor memory chip and second leads electrically connected to said second semiconductor memory chip, said first leads of said first device and said second leads of said second device each including leads electrically connected to each other through said plurality of wirings; and (d) a third device disposed on said first surface of said substrate; wherein said third device inputs a predetermined signal to said first device in response to a signal inputted in said terminal of said substrate; and wherein said first and second devices are positioned on respective said first and second surfaces such that they are symmetrical with regard to said substrate.
- 37. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 36, wherein each of said first and second leads of said first and second devices includes electrical common leads and an electrical independent lead, and wherein said leads of said first and second leads electrically connected to each other through said plurality of wirings are said electrical common leads.
- 38. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 36, wherein said signal inputted in said terminal of said substrate is inputted from an external device.
- 39. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 36, wherein said third device includes a logic device.
- 40. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 36, wherein said first semiconductor memory chip of said first device has the same function as that of said second semiconductor memory chip of said second device.
- 41. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 36, wherein each of said first and second devices is a tape carrier package having a resin film, a semiconductor chip disposed in a device hole formed in said resin film and flexible leads formed on said resin film.
- 42. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 37, wherein said electrical common leads includes address signal leads and data signal leads, and wherein said electrical independent lead includes a chip selecting signal lead.
- 43. A semiconductor memory module according to claim 40, wherein each of said first and second semiconductor memory chips has a plurality of electrodes formed on a main surface thereof, and wherein an arrangement of said plurality of electrodes of said first semiconductor memory chip is the same as that of said plurality of electrodes of said second semiconductor memory chip in a plane view.
